7th January 2020
The Union Internationale Motonautique (UIM) has informed APBA Formula 2 driver Brent Dillard that he is provisionally suspended pursuant to Article 7.9.2 of the 2019 UIM Anti-doping Code. The decision to provisionally suspend Mr. Brent Dillard was optional following the receipt of a report from the WADA accredited laboratory in Cologne (Germany), the Deutsche Sporthochschule Köln Institut für Biochemie, indicating an Adverse Analytical Finding (AAF) of a Specified Substance (under Section 6.b) Stimulants of the 2019 Prohibited List, in a urine sample collected from him at an In-Competition test carried out by the UIM at the UIM Formula 2 World Championship round held in Ribadouro, Portugal, on 14th September 2019. Mr. Brent Dillard has been given the right to request and attend the analysis of his B sample but declined to proceed and by doing so has been deemed to have accepted the accuracy of the Adverse Analytical Finding made in respect of the A Sample. As a result, the Provisional Suspension has now come into automatic effect. Mr. Brent Dillard has been provisionally suspended as from 5 th December 2019. He is therefore not entitled to participate in any powerboating competition or activity until further notice. As per the World Anti-Doping Code and the UIM Anti-doping Code, the UIM is not in a position to provide any additional information at this time.
